Jack-o-lanterns

Last night we had a pumpkin carving party.

Ian's pumpkin was grown in our garden.

The Barkers were there.

And Josh came all the way from Texas. Jamesy wasn't feeling very good so Josh held him a pretty good portion of the night. He must have been missing Jett.

He got some love from Brooke, too - who also brought pumpkin cookies to decorate for dessert.

The final products.

Halloween Preview

I can't believe how impossible it is two get a good picture of the boys together.

Add Halloween costumes to the mix and it gets even worse...
Saturday night we had our ward Halloween party - here are the boys in their star wars costumes.

Jamesy eating his first cotton candy at the party.

G Berber and G Ray

Yesterday Grandma Barbara and Grandpa Ray came for a short visit before they head off to Florida for the winter. The first thing Jamesy did was crawl right over to Grandpa Ray and snuggled into his lap.

Playtime (heavy on the lego tower building).

Looks like "Berber", Ian's nickname for Grandma Barbara has stuck. I even heard Grandpa Ray use it quite a few times.

Thank you for all the gifts and plants and especially for the visit. We will miss you!

Score

Last Saturday was Ian's first soccer game. He was way more interested in the drinking fountain than in the game - but he did somehow manage to score a goal (actually he was turned the other way, someone kicked the ball, it bounced off his heels and went in the goal) - we were so proud.

After the game we went on a hayride around the pumpkin patch.

Time for another haircut? I am saving it for after he is the young luke skywalker for halloween.

Roar

He was so so proud of himself pushing this chair around tonight. I think he was getting visions of someday being able to get away from ian when he wants to - or of getting ian...

Sholz Farm

One benefit of living in this area is we are surrounded by farms and tons of fresh, local produce. There are at least 3 pumpkin farms within 10 minutes of us - today we went to our second (and I'm sure we will make it to the 3rd because I am totally convinced that Ian would love a haunted hayride - am I crazy?).

The gigantic hill of wood shavings - which reminded me of a hamster cage and kind of made me want to throw up.

All the kids: Peyton, Sophie, James, Charlie, Ian, Baily, Maggie, Annie and Henry.

Biggest squash ever.

Three of Amber's 5 kids. I love this picture.

There was a corn maze for the kids that told the story of Peter Pan as you walked through.

Classic Ian.

There were lots of farm animals to see - but ian liked these smelly guys the best.

We went home with five gourds and a white pumpkin. I saved the heavy lifting for when curt is with us.

Swan gourds.

Growth chart - well, he sure is funny.

That is a lot of pictures, and I didn't even document the "little" pee accident, stuffing his mouth so full of kettle corn that he could barely close it, rolling pumpkins down the rows, or falling asleep on the way home.

Playdate

We have lots of playdates with Ian in mind - but this one was just for James. Ashlee Fox was born 2 weeks before James - they had fun together, when Ian actually let them play with the toys.

Pink Party

It sometimes amazes me that Ian still asks me at least once a week if Josie is a girl or a boy. Happy Birthday Josie!

And a little Jamesy adder for those of you who would like some.
