All you can eat

This morning Ian and I went blueberry and cherry picking with some of the family. We started in the cherry tree orchard. Ian climbed all the way up the ladder with Grandma once and spent the rest of the time shoving cherries into his mouth - thank goodness for oxiclean, his outfit will be soaking tonight.

After the cherries we went to the blueberry bushes. Ian was so full of cherries he actually helped pick the blueberries (he also tried to step on all the berries in the buckets as well).





And of course Ian's normal total fascination with, and terror of the farm animals.

Cousin Love

Devon and Connor returned from their dad's house on Sunday and I have never seen a more excited Ian. His eyes light up as soon as he sees them and they play with him nonstop the whole time they are together (which might also explain the new bump on his forehead and raspberry across his nose).
Things he has learned from them so far:
1. how to wrestle - he attacks connor on the trampoline, takes him down and holds on to his waist while connor rolls back and forth over him while they laugh hysterically
2. racing tricycles - back and forth around and around the porch
3. making sticks into every kind of weapon imaginable

Up from DC

My fabulous friends from dc came to visit last weekend - it was so great to hang out with them and sit in the sun and do nothing but catch up for hours and hours.
Lindsay and Kimberly showed up on friday with tons of yummies from their garden and cooked us a delicious dinner. Here they are right before they left on Monday with thier matching Moosewood tee-shirts (we went to the Moosewood the night before for dinner).

Marc and Michelle and the boys came on Saturday morning. We spent the day playing in the water and went to Skaneateles to Doug's Fish Fry that night.

Dave had fun talking to the Cooks about thier upcoming post in China - and testing Marc's Mandarin skills.
I'm so glad they drove all the way up from DC to visit - can't wait until next time.....

A lotta lotta lake

This is how Ian has been keeping busy the last few days.

All in the first weekend...

Wednesday we left for vacation in NY. Ian and Curt went on one airline and I went on another. It was really nice to be able to read a book while flying again - but I have to admit that I got a little bored towards the end. Curt didn't get thrown up on once so his trip was a success.
The first day we got to relax and play in the lake. Ian went tubing behind the boat and jumped off the tube and the dock into the lake. He will be wearing his life jacket at all times.
Ian and Peyton loved hanging out together. She is so smiley and darling - I had a crush.

Ian had lake hair...I have a feeling we are going to be seeing a lot of that.


Friday was megan's graduation party -

And saturday morning was Ashley's baby shower. She is so cute pregnant.

Saturday we had to say good bye to Ash and Hank - but not until after we celebrated Hanks upcoming birthday.




We spent the rest of the day sailing - Ian fell asleep and we laid him down in the cabin until we got back to the lakehouse.


Sunday he discovered these shrek ears and ended up taking them to bed with him.



Ian's favorite part of our vacation by far has been his daily tractor (he calls it a bunda???) ride/rides with grandpa. Hopefully this week will be a little more relaxing and I can get a tan.

Other funny things ian did this week...

On saturday we went to a ward picnic and ian played in the kiddy pool at the park - he is getting ready for our big trip to NY next week - we can't wait to have fun at the lake!
