Little Amelia

Last week the McKinneys were in town for a few days. Ian and I got to spend lots of time with Melisa and Amelia while Josh and Curt worked. Amelia is the darlingest baby with super long, gorgeous eyelashes and is so smiley. Ian and I both had crushes on her.

We spent some time at the park and Melisa finally got a picture of Ian's kamikazi diving down the slide.

We all got together over the weekend and hung out.

Amelia was totally trying to make out with Ian - but Ian told her he was to young for that kind of thing. Then he poked her in the eye.

Curt and Ian were twins.

And more funny ian...

Yipee - happy holidays

A certain sister called me yesterday while she was shopping in Georgetown and wanted to know if we had drawn names yet for Christmas - here is the list:

I promise that there was no personal preference involved in this totally random drawing of names. Merry Christmas.

Punkin

This weekend my grandparents came to visit from Astoria OR. I think they came mostly to visit Ian but it is nice that Curt and I get to benefit from things like that.

On saturday morning we went to Maris Farm to pick some pumpkins. We started out at the petting zoo, where we learned that Ian is still terrified of animals (actually by the time we left he touched a goat twice but for a while he was pulling me back away from the animals as hard as he could).

Next we went on a hay ride. It was actually kind of cold and not that enjoyable - but Ian liked the big tractor.

He's pretty picky about his pumpkins but eventually he found a couple that he liked.

Cousins

Last weekend my cousin Cherie and her family came to dinner at our new place. Even though they are still an hour or so away - we are so glad that we can visit once in a while. Hopefully next time I can get a picture that isn't blurry.

Also last week we celebrated the OTHER Amy Leonard's birthday. She likes to be called the "first" amy leonard but I call her the "old" amy leonard. She made an amazing chocolate mint cakie.

Ian is turning out to be quite the little helper. He is obsessed with the dust mop, dust pan, swiffer, etc. You can tell how much help he was in the garden last week.

Practically perfect in every way

Lately I've been receiving a lot of complaints from my family about my blogging - for example, "your mother posts more often than you do" (you would think I had had taken thier favorite baby and moved across the country or something). The truth is, it's just not everyday that you get a picture of ian that really communicates how sweet he is:

Or how good natured he is:

Or shows what a great body he has:

Or how well-behaved he is in his car seat:

Don't you miss the little bugger?

The cider mill

Yesterday we went to the Country Cider Mill With Michelle and Grant to buy some fresh farm produce and see the animals. Ian was terrified of the pig, Doughnut, and the goats - and only mildly tolerated the rest of the animals. He was more interested in the tiny slide and playing with Grant and Grace.

Turns out petting zoos are more for older kids - Grant fed the animals and loved the pig.

Later that night Ian stole Curt's head phones and was listening to XTC. I bet when he hears that when he is older he is going to think his dad likes wierd music.

Room to dance

We finally have internet again - so happy. Although, I've probably gotten a lot more done without it this week than I would have with it. Most of the boxes are unpacked and Ian is having fun in the new house. Please come visit us as soon as you can.
